Exclusive insights and valuable discussions
During the moderated tour, the participants visited selected stands from companies such as fjällräven, Globetrotter, Sympatex, Trollkids, hanwag and Anpfiff ins Leben e.V.. There, executives and HR managers not only provided exciting insights into the working world of their companies, but were also available to answer individual questions and engage in personal discussions. Questions such as:
- "What career prospects do you offer young talents?"
- "How do you live your corporate values in your day-to-day work?"
- "What skills are particularly in demand in your company?"
were answered openly and at eye level. The relaxed yet professional atmosphere enabled the participants to make direct connections and gain an authentic impression of the working world in leading sports companies.
"The career tour at ISPO was a great opportunity to gain exciting insights into various companies such as Fjällräven and Trollkids. The tour not only offered interesting perspectives, but also created a valuable platform for making contacts and building bridges for entry into the industry."
Ellen Hemme (student at TU Munich and participant in the VSD career tour).
Career tour with sustainable added value
The positive feedback from previous years continued in 2024, with some companies taking part again and others, such as fjällräven and Globetrotter, participating for the first time. The participating companies particularly appreciate the opportunity to get to know talented young professionals in an informal setting and to present their own career opportunities.
"The career tour gives our participants exclusive insights that they wouldn't get anywhere else. At the same time, the companies benefit from a first personal impression of potential applicants," explains Stephan Peters, VSD Board Member. "This platform connects talented people with future-oriented companies - in line with our vision of actively promoting and developing the industry."
Meeting point for the VSD community at the heart of the "Talent & Culture Hub"
The VSD stand at theheart of the 'Talent & Culture Hub' in Hall B2 was a central meeting point for the VSD community, members and interested parties from the sports business throughout the trade fair. The hub not only provided the perfect backdrop for the career tour, but also space for inspiring keynotes, such as those by Olympic long jump champion Malaika Mihambo and tennis legend Andre Agassi. Both presentations impressively demonstrated how sport can act as a catalyst for social issues such as education and equal opportunities. The program was also complemented by interactive workshops, which offered participants valuable insights into the latest trends and developments in the sports industry, as well as numerous networking opportunities for all attendees.
VSD volunteers provide impetus at ISPO
Our VSD working group speakers and members were also active at ISPO Munich 2024 and enriched the program with exciting formats. Andreas Bechler, spokesperson for the "Fitness Industry" working group, recorded a live podcast episode of his "Hashtag Fitness Industry" format in the "Talent & Culture Hub" on the topic of "Success through attractiveness: Employer branding in the sports and fitness sector".
Marcus Trute, spokesperson for the "Leadership" working group, brought the topic of leadership culture into the spotlight with his keynote speech on the "Yellow Stage". His presentation was followed by an interactive workshop that offered participants practical insights and approaches to shaping modern leadership cultures. Here are some impressions, including a short "journey through time".
VSD member Stephan Westermann (devonSPORT) was also on and off stage with both a keynote speech and his workshop on the topic of "Future image". Click here for his personal review.
These contributions underlined the commitment and expertise of the VSD volunteers, who actively contributed to the diversity and quality of the program.
A strong signal for the future
The consistently positive feedback from participants, companies and partners such as ISPO shows the lasting value of the VSD Career Tour. It is more than just a career event - it is a platform that connects talents and companies, offers insights into the industry and creates lasting relationships. VSD is looking forward to accompanying more talents and companies on their joint journey in the future and to further developing the career tour.
